Montaña de Oro State Park
is one of California's largest state parks, consisting of 8,000 acres which include seven miles of spectacular coastline and over 50 miles of trails for hiking, jogging, bicycling, horseback riding, mountain biking, surfing, tidepool exploring, whale watching, picnicking and camping.

Reservations are available for the 50 site primitive campground from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Call 1-800-444-7275 to make a reservation. There are also a group horse camp and four primitive walk-in campsites.

The Visitor Center in the historic ranch house is open daily during the summer, and on weekends the rest of the year. Many docent-led nature walks begin here at the Visitor Center.

To reach Montaña de Oro from San Luis Obispo, exit Hwy. 101 at Los Osos Valley Road and travel west for 9 miles to Pecho Road, then go south for 3 miles.
